Private hospitals in São Paulo recorded an increase of up to 20% in confirmed cases of Covid in the first weeks of October, according to a survey by the Union of Hospitals, Clinics and Laboratories of the State of São Paulo. The most affected age group is between 30 and 50 years old.

The Research
The research was carried out between 10 and 19 October. The data also shows that 84% of establishments had an increase in patients with respiratory symptoms.

Doctors report that the disease has been affecting people at a faster pace in the last 15 days, indicating the circulation of new subvariants.
Hospitalizations
Also, according to the research, 76% of hospitals recorded an increase in patient admissions due to Covid-19, with this increase being 5% in clinical beds for the majority. The average length of stay for patients with coronavirus in a clinical bed is 5 to 10 days.In ICU beds, 92% of hospitals report a 5% increase in hospitalizations with an average length of stay of up to 4 days.
