06/06/2026 – On Saturday (6), a 45-year-old man was detained in the Serra d’Água neighborhood while wearing a tactical uniform nearly identical to Rio’s elite BOPE police unit. An off-duty officer spotted the suspect on the Saturnino Braga Highway, leading to a search that uncovered two concealed combat knives, cloned badges, fake IDs, and police insignia. Taken to the 166th DP, the suspect was released because active usurpation of public office could not yet be proven, though all gear remains confiscated for investigation.

08/06/2026 – On Monday (8), military police raided a cartel supply outpost in the Alto da Banqueta sector, inflicting a R$ 50,000 loss on local drug operations. Prompted by an anonymous hotline tip, officers swept a wooded area near a railway line, uncovering a stash containing a 9mm homemade submachine gun, four live grenades, body armor vests, 982 vials of cocaine, and 25 bricks of marijuana. No suspects were found on site.
08/06/2026 – On Monday (8), a 36-year-old fugitive wanted for a 2021 attempted murder was arrested by Civil Police inside a business in the Parque Belém neighborhood. The original crime occurred in Nova Iguaçu when the suspect used a wooden beam to brutally beat a neighbor who had sheltered his threatened ex-partner, causing severe head trauma to the victim. Following the activation of a preventive warrant issued in May, detectives successfully jailed the suspect.
10/06/2026 – On Wednesday (10), military police undercover intelligence units (P2) raided a TCP drug den in the Sapinhatuba I neighborhood. Following a brief foot chase through the brush, operators captured the cell’s 19-year-old armed sentry. Officers combed his escape route and recovered a high-end 9mm pistol manufactured by Belgian defense firm FN Herstal, a restricted military-grade weapon smuggled into Brazil. The suspect was jailed without bail on restricted weapons charges.
