18/05/2025 – Two men were arrested and 26 others cited on Sunday (18/05) during a police operation at Praia do Anil for selling and using “linha chilena”, a type of banned kite string. The suspects were caught with 10 and 13 reels respectively and charged with illegal sales. The others were cited for endangerment. The operation, part of the Cerco Total and Maio Amarelo campaigns, aims to curb activities that pose risks to road safety, especially for motorcyclists.

20/05/2025 – On Tuesday (20/05), a police operation in Morro do Santo Antônio ended in a shootout with suspected drug traffickers. A 21-year-old man was arrested, and a 17-year-old minor was apprehended. Officers seized over 900 doses of drugs, including cocaine, crack, marijuana, and inhalants. The operation responded to anonymous reports of drug trafficking in an area controlled by a criminal faction.
