15/02/2025 – On Saturday (15/02), the Macaé city hall warned merchants about a scam involving fake health inspectors. The criminals use a phone number with the Macaé area code and pose as agents from the Vigilância Sanitária or the Secrétaria Estadual de Saúde, demanding money to avoid a fictitious inspection. Authorities remind that inspections are always conducted in person and that any official tax is paid through a Municipal Collection Document (DAM), never by bank transfer. Victims are encouraged to report these attempts to the police.
