06/06/2023 – Two men died, and four others were arrested after a Military Police operation on an island on the banks of the Macaé River, between the Malvinas and Nova Holanda communities. A large amount of drugs was also seized. According to the corporation, the action was triggered based on precise information about the meeting of members linked to a criminal faction. The police were met with gunfire and fought back. One of the teams also went to Rua 8 in the Nova Holanda community to verify information about an abandoned residence that was being used to store narcotics and ammunition. At the scene, a large quantity of ammunition of different calibers were seized, in addition to a pistol charger.

10/06/2023 – A man was arrested after stealing aluminum gates from a Glória neighborhood store. He was spotted by military police officers who were on patrol. According to police, the man was forcing one of the gates.
12/06/2023 – Present Security Program agents arrested three teenagers after robbing stores on the pedestrian street of Avenida Rui Barbosa, in downtown Macaé. The occurrence began around 9:45 am, when the police were called by security guards at a store. They reported that the minors had stolen products not only from the establishment, but also from other stores.
18/06/2023 – Two men were shot dead on Rua Via do Sol, in the Novo Cavaleiros neighborhood. The police have been called and are investigating the case. The victims were around their 20s and 30s. So far, there is no information about the authorship of the crime or the motivation behind the murders.
19/06/2023 – Agents of the Present Security program arrested a man in downtown Macaé. He was riding a motorcycle that was identified as tampered with. The agents’ action took place during a routine patrol. After a more detailed check, they discovered that the man already had criminal notes for trafficking and association with drug trafficking.
28/06/2023 – A man was arrested after a robbery inside a bus on RJ-106, in Barra de Macaé. According to the Military Police, the crime happened on the bus that made the Centro X Engenho de Praia line. According to witnesses, the criminal jumped the roulette wheel, entered the bus, and stole the cell phone that was in the hands of a passenger.

- After dark, avoid Glória and the Centro (Downtown).
- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista and Cavaleiros.
- Avoid Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana and Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros), as risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas.
- As much as possible, restrict movement in the districts of Novo Horizonte (in Vale Encantado) and Parque Aeroporto. Do not walk alone in these areas and use only licensed taxis.
- Be careful when walking downtown, avoid exposing valuables.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
