02/10/2025 – On Thursday (02/10), police detained two people during an operation in Parque Aeroporto. A minor was caught with ten packets of cocaine hidden inside a beer can, while a 40-year-old man carried a small amount of marijuana and a cell phone. Both were taken to the 123rd Police Station. A third suspect was questioned and released.

08/10/2025 – Federal Police Drug Trafficking Bust. In a joint operation between Federal Police and Federal Highway Police, a man was arrested in flagrante delicto transporting 15 kg of cocaine and 1 kg of marijuana from Rio’s Complexo do Alemão to communities in Macaé. The drugs were hidden in internal vehicle compartments, and the suspect was taken to the Federal Police station in Macaé.
09/10/2025 – Drug Trafficking Arrests in Favela da Linha. The Intelligence Service of the 32nd Military Police Battalion arrested two men for drug trafficking in Favela da Linha, Alto dos Cajueiros region, following identification of suspicious movements linked to drug commerce. The suspects attempted to flee but were captured with cocaine, marijuana, crack, and cash during the operation.
10/10/2025 – Civil Police Arrests Two for Violent Crimes Against Police. The 123rd Police Station in Macaé made two significant arrests targeting members of the Amigos dos Amigos (ADA) criminal faction. The first arrest was of a suspect captured in the Piracema neighborhood, charged with triple-qualified attempted murder, robbery, and corruption of minors. In February 2023, he participated in a brutal beating in the Bosque Azul neighborhood, where a man was forcibly removed from his vehicle and taken to a wooded area for violent assault by ADA traffickers who suspected the victim of collaborating with a rival faction. The execution was only prevented by the timely arrival of the Military Police.
10/10/2025 – The second arrest took place at Praia Campista, where a man wanted for attempted murder and drug trafficking was found. He is involved in a shootout in Favela da Linha, where he and an accomplice known as “Fantasma” opened fire on military police during an operation. Police seized a 9mm pistol, ammunition, and drugs marked with “FDL ADA RN” confirming faction ties.
13/10/2025 – Vandal damage to security cameras (13/10). The Federal Police carried out an operation that resulted in the arrest of suspects related to vandalism of security cameras in the city, reinforcing efforts to combat crime and preserve heritage.
20/10/2025 – On Monday (20), police officers from the 32nd BPM arrested a fugitive wanted for drug trafficking and criminal association in the Aroeira neighborhood. The suspect was captured during an intelligence-led operation on Rua Prefeito Juvenal Barreto and taken to the 123rd Police Station, where he remains in custody awaiting judicial proceedings.
21/10/2025 – On Tuesday (21), police operations by the 32nd BPM in Macaé led to one arrest and the seizure of drugs in the Favela da Linha. Officers from the intelligence unit caught a man hiding a bag in a parked car’s rear axle, which contained 120 crack rocks and 70 reais. He confessed to selling drugs to pay off a 4,500-real debt and said he earned 200 reais per load sold. In a separate action in the same area, Tactical Group officers recovered 180 cocaine capsules, 96 crack rocks, 41 marijuana packages, cash, lighters, and rolling papers abandoned by fleeing suspects.
22/10/2025 – On Wednesday (22), a Military Police operation in the Cancela Preta neighborhood resulted in the arrest of a woman for drug trafficking. Acting on a tip about drug sales on Machado de Assis Street, the Tactical Action Group (GAT) from the 32nd BPM set up a perimeter and detained a man carrying 400 reais, a cellphone, and a marijuana package, who admitted buying the drug from the woman. She was soon located with 45 reais and a cellphone and confessed to her involvement. Police later found 69 packages of marijuana hidden in a nearby forest.
23/10/2025 – On Thursday (23), police from the 32nd BPM in Macaé arrested a man suspected of involvement in drug trafficking in the Parque Aeroporto neighborhood. Officers from the intelligence unit spotted him acting suspiciously at Praça do Pinche, and he attempted to flee but was quickly captured. During the search, police seized a cell phone, 50 reais in cash, and 43 capsules of cocaine. The suspect was taken to the 123rd Police Station, where he remains in custody.
27/10/2025 – Couple Arrested for Cell Phone Theft in Ajuda de Baixo. A couple was arrested in Macaé after stealing a cell phone in the Ajuda de Baixo neighborhood. The victim reported the robbery to police, who quickly located and recovered the stolen device. The suspects were apprehended and taken into custody by local authorities. This case demonstrates Macaé’s continued vigilance in combating property crimes, particularly cell phone theft which has been a regional concern.
29/10/2025 – On Wednesday (29), Civil Police in Macaé arrested two brothers accused of attempted qualified homicide in the Parque Aeroporto neighborhood. One of them, known as “Americano,” is identified as a local drug faction leader linked to the Comando Vermelho. According to the investigation, the pair took part in the June 23 assault of a man who was kidnapped and beaten by about 15 traffickers near Vila Badejo Square for allegedly selling drugs above the faction’s fixed price. The 123rd Police Precinct gathered sufficient evidence to obtain arrest warrants, and both suspects were captured in Parque Aeroporto. “Americano” was also caught with a cloned motorcycle and charged with receiving stolen property.

- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista, Cavaleiros, Glória and the central area.
- As risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas due to gang presence,
- avoid: Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana, Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto, and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros).
- When going to and leaving Vale Encantado, never walk, call a licensed taxi, or use a company-approved ride-sharing App.
- In any situation, avoid waiting on the sidewalk. If you call a taxi, for instance, wait inside a building and only leave when the car arrives.
