08/08/2026 – On Saturday evening (8), in the Embaré neighborhood, an unidentified man approximately 60 years old died after being found unconscious in Canal 4 along Avenida Siqueira Campos. Responding Fire Department officers rescued the man (who suffered a head injury and exhibited signs of drowning) from the water around 19:25 while he was in cardiorespiratory arrest. Emergency personnel transported him to the medical unit, where he was pronounced dead.

08/08/2026 – On Saturday (8), in the Embaré neighborhood, two unidentified men burglarized a 7th-floor beachfront apartment, stealing jewelry, cash, and designer bags. Investigations revealed that the suspects rented a 1st-floor apartment in the building using an online platform (Booking.com), circumventing a building ban on short-term rentals after the owner falsely claimed they were relatives, and gained entry to the victims’ unit via the back door while the family was away. Surveillance footage captured the duo arriving on Friday evening and departing on Saturday afternoon with the stolen goods.
09/08/2026 – On Sunday morning (9), in the Castelo neighborhood, a man and a woman were arrested in flagrante after hiding on the top floor of a building during an attempted electrical cable theft at the Sambódromo. Alerted by residents through the “Vizinhança Solidária” program, Military Police and Municipal Guards (GCM) cordoned off the building, where they found the suspects hiding alongside coiled, cut electrical wires, a pair of pliers, and evidence of forced entry. Both suspects were taken to the Santos Central Police Station and charged with qualified theft.
09/08/2026 – On Sunday afternoon (9), in the Boqueirão neighborhood of Santos, São Paulo, Military Police arrested a 63-year-old fugitive wanted for indecent assault. Officers stopped the suspect on Avenida Conselheiro Nébias after observing suspicious behavior, and a background check revealed an active arrest warrant stemming from his conviction. He was brought to the Santos Central Police Station, where he remains detained.
