24/02/2024 – A patient had a psychotic episode after surgery, took a gun and wounded a nurse in a hospital in Moema, South SP. According to the police, the 70yo man is a retired detective. He grabbed a gun and 2 nurses tried to contain him, but he shot once and wounded a 49yo nurse at the foot. The police seized 2 pistols, but the article does not inform if the man was placed in custody.

24/02/2024 – An off-duty police officer and his 19yo daughter died after a shootout in Vila Medeiros, North SP. The victims were in their vehicle in front of a drugstore, waiting for the officer´s wife, when 3 bandits approached the vehicle. The cop pointed his gun at the suspects, and one of them also pulled out his gun and started the shootout. Both the cop and his daughter were shot and died on the local. The police said the investigation was in progress.
26/02/2024 – Criminals armed with a rifle assaulted a pedestrian in Vila Olímpia, South SP. Indeed, a security camera recorded 2 men armed with a rifle, or a submachine gun, assaulting and kidnapping a man for him to give his bank account access. After having robbed R$ 9k from the victim´s account, the bandits left him on an avenue. The Secretary of Public Security declared to be investigating the case, as the Fórum Brasileiro de Segurança Pública pointed out that the number of assaults with heavy weapons is increasing.
27/02/2024 – An off-duty police officer killed a suspect of robbing a high-brand watch in Vila Olímpia, South SP. Indeed, the bandit stopped at a gas station to steal a Rolex from a client when the cop witnessed the crime. After a brief shootout, the bandit fell dead on the ground.
28/02/2024 – Dispute for a parking slot ended in a shootout between 2 neighbors in Jardim da Conquista, East SP. Indeed, according to the registered occurrence, one of the neighbors, an off-duty police officer, suffered verbal aggression from his neighbor and reacted with a punch. The other man grabbed his gun and the shootout started as the cop grabbed his. At least 18 bullets were shot. The neighbor was wounded in the arm and the officer actioned the ERS and the police. The Corporation found out that the neighbor was in illegal possession of a firearm and was charged with it. Yet, the police reported that their off-duty colleague acted in legitimate defense.
29/02/2024 – Federal Police arrested 7 suspects amid an operation against international drug trafficking in São Paulo and the International Airport of Guarulhos. Indeed, the operation was launched after the Portuguese police seized 400kgs of cocaine in 2022. The investigation pointed out that the drugs were shipped on behalf of a dummy corporation.
29/02/2024 – A bandit died and another was wounded during a shootout with an off-duty police officer in Ipiranga, South SP. According to the police, 4 bandits on 2 motorcycles tried to assault the officer, in his car with his wife, but he reacted, and a shootout occurred, killing one, and wounding another bandit and a passing-by civilian. The 2 other criminals ran away. The investigation pointed out that the gang tried to assault another vehicle in the district, but the victim fled before the hold-up.
29/02/2024 – The police closed 2 scam centers in the center of São Paulo. One of the centers was used as a clandestine loan center for debtors, while the other center was the database center of the gang. The detectives arrested 9 suspects in the first center and 23 in the second. They also seized computers and lists of daily targeted valors. All the suspects were charged with fraud and criminal association.
