28/09/2026 – On Monday (28), 39-year-old businessman Renato Damas Schittini Moreira succumbed to his injuries after being shot in the head and arm during an attempted robbery on Saturday (26) evening in Brooklin, South Zone of São Paulo. The victim was targeted around 18:50 while parking his car on Texas Street alongside his wife and children as they traveled from a wedding to a birthday party; despite offering no resistance while attempting to hand over his wedding ring, the helmeted gunman on a motorcycle fired two shots and fled empty-handed.

30/09/2026 – On Wednesday (30) morning, 48-year-old Diadema Municipal Guard (GCM) officer Wagner Fernando Silva was fatally shot during an attempted motorcycle robbery in São Bernardo do Campo, Greater São Paulo. The off-duty officer was intercepted by armed criminals while riding his motorcycle along Avenida Robert Kennedy, resulting in an exchange of gunfire that left the guard wounded; he was transported to Hospital Assunção, where he succumbed to his injuries, while the suspects fled the scene without taking the vehicle.
30/09/2026 – On Wednesday (30), a pharmacy employee was taken hostage by a man armed with a knife inside a supermarket in the city of São Paulo. Military Police officers responded to the scene, isolated the area, and successfully negotiated with the suspect, who eventually surrendered and released the victim unharmed; the perpetrator was arrested and taken to the local Civil Police precinct to be booked.
01/10/2026 – On Thursday morning (1), 24-year-old Maria Eduarda Santana Nascimento was fatally shot while driving to work on Estrada de Itapecerica in the South Zone of São Paulo. The incident occurred when an off-duty Civil Police investigator witnessed an attempted robbery and intervened, triggering an exchange of gunfire that also left the suspect dead. Investigators and forensics experts are currently reviewing security footage and conducting ballistic tests to determine whether the fatal shot originated from the suspect’s weapon or the officer’s firearm, while the case has been registered as robbery followed by homicide resulting from police intervention.
02/10/2026 – On Friday morning (2), two men suspected of murdering Military Police Corporal Paulo Roberto Lima Pereira were killed during a Civil Police operation in Campo Limpo, located in the South Zone of São Paulo. According to the Public Security Secretariat, investigators from the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) were attempting to serve temporary arrest warrants against the fugitives when the suspects opened fire, initiating a confrontation in which both were shot dead at the scene. The victim, a 44-year-old officer, was fatally shot in the head on August 28 during a robbery on Marginal Tietê after stopping to check a damaged tire; authorities suspect the perpetrators belong to the “gangue da pedra” ring and are continuing efforts to identify a third suspect involved in the crime.
02/10/2026 – On Friday morning (2), two teenagers aged 16 and 17 were apprehended by the Military Police in the Morumbi neighborhood, in the West Zone of São Paulo, on suspicion of belonging to a gang specialized in robbing luxury mansions in the region. According to the police, officers patrolling the area spotted the youths acting suspiciously near a high-end property; upon noticing the police presence, the pair attempted to flee into a nearby wooded area but were quickly intercepted. Investigators report that the suspects were carrying burglary tools and are believed to be linked to recent home invasions where wealthy residents were held hostage, and both minors were taken to the 34th Police Precinct (Vila Sônia) to face judicial proceedings under the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA).
