SÃO PAULO SECURITY INCIDENTS – 4TH BULLETIN OF APRIL

The numbers of homicides, thefts and robberies increased in March in the state of São Paulo compared to the same month of 2022, according to crime statistics released by the Public Security Secretariat (SSP). The highlight goes to vehicle theft, which grew 6.65%, from 8,296 to 8,848 cases. Vehicle robberies also increased, by approximately 3%. There were 3,482 vehicle robberies in March of last year and 3,592 in March of this year. Thefts in general increased by 2.2% and robberies by 1.5%. Not only crimes against property have risen in the state. There was also anincrease in intentional homicides. In March this year, 246 people were murdered, while in the same month last year, 241 were murdered.
