SÃO PAULO SECURITY INCIDENTS – 5TH BULLETIN OF AUGUST

Downtown São Paulo registers, on average, one theft every 30 minutes. This is what a survey carried out by SP1 based on data from the State Secretariat for Public Security (SSP) shows. In all, 13,478 occurrences of theft were recorded in the eight police stations in the central region between January and July of this year — the highest number for the period since the beginning of the department’s historical series, in 2001. The Police District (DP) of Campos Elíseos was which recorded the most robberies, with 4,398 occurrences, followed by the DP da Liberdade, with 2,910.
