12/02/2026 – On Thursday (12), the Federal Police arrested a 32-year-old man in Angra dos Reis during the third phase of Operation Risk Classification. Accused of grooming minors and sharing child abuse material, the suspect was detained following search warrants in Angra and Mangaratiba. This phase follows the previous arrests of a pediatrician and a teacher, as authorities now analyze seized electronics to identify further victims.

13/02/2026 – On Friday (13), a trivial dispute over a construction site in Morro do Moreno, escalated into an attempted murder. A bricklayer was shot three times after asking a neighbor to move his car to avoid damage from falling stones; the suspect allegedly responded with threats before retrieving a revolver. While the victim was rushed to the hospital in serious condition, the 166th DP quickly identified the shooter and obtained an arrest warrant. The suspect remains at large.
15/02/2026 – On Sunday (15), a man was arrested in the Verolme neighborhood for allegedly assaulting his partner after she attempted to end their relationship. According to the Civil Police, the woman was attacked with punches and thrown to the floor—striking her head—after she began packing his belongings to facilitate his move out of their shared home. The victim managed to escape and report the incident to the Specialized Women’s Police Station (DEAM), leading to the suspect’s arrest for bodily injury.
16/02/2026 – On Monday (16), a young man died after being brutally beaten during a fight in Japuiba. Despite being rescued by SAMU, he succumbed to extensive bruising and injuries before reaching the Japuíba Municipal Hospital.
18/02/2026 – In continuation of Operation Folia, Civil Police agents shut down a reactivated drug distribution point in the Promorar neighborhood, Japuíba, on Wednesday (18). Officers discovered a makeshift “drug tent” equipped with tables and chairs specifically set up to meet Carnival demand. A 33-year-old man was arrested in the act of selling to a customer; police seized 292 pins of cocaine, 73 stones of crack, 30 strips of marijuana, and various inhalants.
