30/05/2026 – On Saturday morning (30), tactical units from the Military Police raided a Comando Vermelho (CV) drug outpost in the Largo da Santa sector of Morro da Fortaleza. Prompted by an anonymous tip, officers disrupted the operation, causing three suspects to flee the area. A subsequent search turned up an abandoned stash containing 2,480 vials of cocaine (9 kg), 269 bags of marijuana (3 kg), and three police-monitoring radio communicators.

01/06/2026 – On Monday (1st), the launch of a controversial tourism tax on Ilha Grande triggered mass protests and arson at Vila do Abraã, where two suspects set fire to a newly installed payment kiosk. Local boat captains and residents blocked the main piers, joining hotel owners who warn the fee will cripple the local economy.
