11/07/2026 – On Saturday (11), a fugitive wanted for unpaid child support was arrested with a narcotics cache at Morro da Penha. The suspect attempted to flee on foot from the Military Police and offered a cash bribe to the officers to avoid arrest. Patrol units intercepted him, seizing retail drug portions, tactical radios, and digital scales, before booking him for trafficking and active corruption.

15/07/2026 – On Wednesday (15), an intense police operation on Morro Santa Maria left one suspect dead and another wounded. Elite COE commandos neutralized an armed suspect in a forested zone, while the 2nd BAEP tactical unit shot and wounded a second gunman in a nearby clash. An adolescent accomplice was detained, and officers seized a military-grade assault rifle and a submachine gun.
15/07/2026 – On Wednesday (15), around 23:00, a lone gunman robbed a confectionery shop in the Embaré neighborhood. The suspect forced three women—the owner, an employee, and an elderly customer—into a bathroom, locking them inside while he looted cash, a store phone, and a smartwatch. Military Police swept the area but failed to locate the suspect, who remains at large.
16/07/2026 – On Thursday (16), Civil Police arrested a 21-year-old man, caught on CCTV hiding a cell phone under a sink to secretly record women in a commercial building’s restroom. The suspect confessed to his voyeuristic impulses but blamed medication-induced memory lapses for the specific incident. Following search warrants executed on July 14, detectives from the 3rd DP seized computers, his phone, and four replica firearms.
