09/09/2026 – On Wednesday (9), a 61-year-old man was shot and killed on Rua Ari Caetano in the Japuíba neighborhood. Military Police dispatched to the scene discovered the victim’s body with multiple gunshot wounds, indicating a summary execution. Forensic investigators collected evidence at the site before transferring the body to the Instituto Médico Legal (IML), while the 166th Police District opened a homicide investigation to determine the motive and identify the unknown, at-large perpetrators.

11/09/2026 – On Friday (11), a 30-year-old man was caught attempting to flee into dense woods and arrested for drug trafficking in Morro da Lagartixa, in the Parque Mambucaba neighborhood. Military Police officers on patrol spotted three individuals who ran upon noticing the patrol but successfully tracked down the suspect carrying two bags filled with illicit narcotics. Police seized cocaine, crack, marijuana, ether, and poppers, transferring the suspect and materials to the 166th Police District.
11/09/2026 – On Friday (11), undercover intelligence officers from the 33rd Military Police Battalion (P2) acted on an anonymous tip to raid Travessa 1º de Maio in Campo Belo, arresting a 26-year-old man for drug trafficking. Officers cornered three suspects on site and seized a backpack containing cocaine, ether, marijuana, crack rocks, poppers, and four mobile phones.
13/09/2026 – On Sunday (13), a 33-year-old man wearing an electronic ankle bracelet robbed a gas station in the Japuíba neighborhood, simulating a firearm under his jacket after his credit card was declined to steal a cell phone and cash from the attendant. Joint Civil (166th DP) and Military Police (33rd BPM) forces tracking the stolen iPhone via iCloud located the suspect at his home in Monsuaba under “Operação Rapina”, arresting him in flagrante and recovering the device. Following his arrest, a second victim identified him at the police station for a previous robbery committed on September 12 at a beverage depot in Verolme, leading authorities to book him for aggravated robbery.
14/09/2026 – On Monday (14), Civil Police from the 166th DP and 33rd BPM officers arrested a 42-year-old man in the Japuíba neighborhood, for his role in the September 9, 2026 homicide of a 42-year-old victim in the area. Surveillance footage and police investigations showed the suspect calling the victim out to his residence before the killing, and officers seized a matching gray jacket inside his home during the raid. Police also questioned and released two teenage witnesses alongside their legal guardians while continuing operations under “Operação Sicário” to recover the murder weapon and locate the primary gunman, who remains at large.
15/09/2026 – On Tuesday (15), a woman with prior drug trafficking convictions was lured and arrested in front of a restaurant in central Angra dos Reis. Joint Civil (166th DP) and Military Police (33rd BPM) forces executed a temporary arrest warrant against her during “Operação Sicário” for her role in a September 9, 2026 homicide in Manguinho. Investigations revealed she helped ambush and deliver the victim to Red Command (CV) hitmen over a loan-sharking PIX debt, marking the second arrest in the case alongside a male co-defendant captured on September 14, while a third gunman remains at large.
