01/07/2025 – On Tuesday (1st), in the Ariramba neighborhood of Mosqueiro (a district of Belém), a 28-year-old man was shot dead after threatening a state highway police sergeant with a replica firearm at the officer’s doorstep. The suspect, a caretaker living in Tapanã, tried to subdue the sergeant using the fake weapon, prompting the officer to respond with lethal force. The sergeant voluntarily reported to the Mosqueiro police station and gave his statement. The Civil Police opened an inquiry to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

04/07/2025 – On Friday (4), a self-proclaimed pastor and her husband were arrested in Belém for the crimes of psychological violence and mistreatment resulting in death, following the June 19 death of a 43-year-old woman from severe malnutrition. The investigation, launched in May after an anonymous tip, revealed that the victim had been subjected to more than a decade of abuse, food deprivation, and public humiliation under the couple’s control. Despite early police contact, the woman denied abuse due to emotional manipulation. She later died after being left at a hospital by the suspects, who fled. The suspects allegedly exploited victims’ faith to isolate and control them, demanding obedience, assets, and complete submission under the guise of spiritual purification.
09/07/2025 – On Wednesday (9), a man was arrested in Belém as part of Operation Intimus, accused of drugging and repeatedly sexually abusing his partner. 10/07/2025 – On Thursday (10), a woman was arrested in Belém for stealing nearly R$10,000 from a 71-year-old woman who was recovering from surgery. Working as a housemaid, she took advantage of the victim’s vulnerability to access her banking app and make Pix transfers totaling R$9,700. She also allegedly stole jewelry and money belonging to a relative of the victim. The suspect had already faced charges for a similar crime in 2024. 13/07/2025 – On the night of Sunday (13), in a nightclub in Icoaraci, district of Belém, a woman was raped by two men after being pushed into a restroom while under the influence of alcohol. According to her statement, one man forced her into the bathroom, where the second committed the assault. The crime was reported to the police shortly after, leading to the arrest of one suspect; the second remains at large.
15/07/2025 – On Tuesday (15), a woman was arrested in a luxury condominium in Belém’s Batista Campos neighborhood, accused of defrauding a friend who lives in Portugal. The suspect allegedly posed online as the victim’s boyfriend, claiming he was a Federal Court official facing financial trouble. Believing in the relationship, the victim — a restaurant owner — transferred around R$ 70,000 in euros. The Pará Civil Police executed a search and seizure warrant as part of the investigation into this romance scam.
17/07/2025 – On Thursday (17), armed criminals robbed the international sailboat Infinity Expedition while it was anchored off the coast of Belém. Two men approached in a small motorboat claiming to be out of fuel, then drew weapons and ordered the crew — including three children — to lie on the deck, threatening to shoot. The suspects targeted the equipment storage area, stealing gear valued at over R$ 300,000. The vessel, part of a global environmental documentary project, was en route to Manaus and scheduled to return for COP 30. The Pará State Civil Police’s river patrol unit is investigating the incident.
17/07/2025 – On Thursday (17), in the São Brás neighborhood, a man suspected of assaulting a traffic officer had his arrest converted to preventive detention the following day. According to Segbel, the suspect became aggressive during a traffic stop after being flagged for driving an unlicensed vehicle with expired registration and 12 traffic fines. 19/07/2025 – On Saturday night (19), a man was shot dead in a square on Rua da Mata, in the Marambaia neighborhood. The victim, José Humberto Lemos Veloso, known as “Betinho,” was approached by two men on a motorcycle; the passenger got off and fired several times, killing him at the scene. The motive for the crime remains unknown. The case is under investigation by the Marambaia police station.
21/07/2025 – On Monday morning (21), a 78-year-old man was arrested in the Terra Firme neighborhood for rape, following a final court conviction. The arrest was carried out after the suspect, previously released, failed to appear in court and was declared a fugitive. The warrant was issued by the Penal Execution Court of the Metropolitan Region. He was located at a residence and taken to the Guamá police station, where he remains in custody.
21/07/2025 – On Monday (21), the Federal and Civil Police seized 500 counterfeit vaccination cards in Belém, inside a vehicle. The documents mimicked official cards from Suriname, a country bordering the state of Pará. The operation aimed to dismantle a criminal group involved in producing and distributing fake Surinamese vaccination cards and facilitating illegal immigration. Only Suriname’s Public Health Department is authorized to issue such documents. Two women—one Brazilian and one Surinamese—were taken to the Federal Police headquarters in Pará for further investigation.
22/07/2025 – On Tuesday (22), a man died during a military police operation in the Mosqueiro district. The intervention followed reports that three individuals were selling drugs in a forested area near the Baía do Sol beach road, in the Carananduba neighborhood. Upon arriving at the site, officers were met with gunfire and returned fire. One suspect was shot and later died at the local hospital, another was arrested, and the third escaped. Drugs and a .36 caliber firearm were seized at the scene.
23/07/2025 – On Wednesday (23), a woman was assaulted during a robbery at a laundromat in the Pedreira neighborhood. Security footage shows the suspect entering the establishment, drawing a firearm, and demanding the victim’s phone. When she resisted and tried to retrieve it, he struck her in the face with the weapon. The attacker then picked up the gun’s magazine, which had fallen, and fled the scene. The victim was left bleeding, and police are currently analyzing the footage to identify the suspect. No arrests have been made so far.
23/07/2025 – A man was arrested in Belém on Wednesday (23), for attempting to extort a female coworker by threatening to release her intimate photos. According to the Civil Police, the suspect secretly took the images during a brief relationship and later threatened to share them with colleagues and the victim’s family unless she paid him. The arrest occurred during a meeting set up to deliver the extortion money. He remains in custody and faces charges of extortion, punishable by four to ten years in prison under Brazilian law.
23/07/2025 – A mototaxi driver was shot and killed on Wednesday night (23), in the Parque Verde neighborhood. The victim was talking in front of a house on São Benedito alley when two men on a motorcycle approached and the passenger opened fire, hitting him five times in the neck, back, chest, and underarm. Witnesses reported at least seven bullet holes in the wall behind the body. The suspects fled the scene, and the police are investigating the homicide and seeking to identify those responsible.
24/07/2025 – On Thursday (24), a man suspected of assaulting a woman at a laundromat in the Pedreira neighborhood died following a confrontation with the Military Police. 24/07/2025 – On Thursday (24), the Pará Civil Police carried out Operation Acerto de Contas in the Guamá neighborhood, arresting four men with outstanding judicial warrants. 26/07/2025 – On Saturday evening (26), a man suspected of robbing a barbershop in the Marambaia neighborhood was killed in a shootout with the Military Police in São João do Outeiro. According to the police, the man was believed to have stolen a firearm and a gold chain from a licensed gun owner during the robbery, which was captured on surveillance footage. He allegedly opened fire when officers arrived at his hideout, prompting them to return fire. He was shot, taken to a health unit, and later died. A .380-caliber pistol and ammunition were recovered at the scene.
27/07/2025 – On Sunday (27), a man armed with a gun held a bus driver hostage after a failed robbery attempt near the Feira do Cordeiro de Farias, in the Tapanã neighborhood. The suspect, under the influence of drugs and wanted by police, made several demands—including media presence and a ballistic vest—and livestreamed the crime on Facebook. The situation lasted nearly three hours and ended with his peaceful surrender to the BOPE and ROTAM units. According to the Civil Police, he was arrested in the act and charged with aggravated extortion.
29/07/2025 – A man robbed a person with a disability at a bus stop in front of Bosque Rodrigues Alves, on Almirante Barroso Avenue, on Tuesday (29). He was detained by passengers inside a bus shortly after the assault. The Civil Police confirmed he was arrested in the act and taken to the Marco Police Station. The victim’s cell phone was recovered.
29/07/2025 – On Tuesday (29), a 14-year-old girl in Belém, was the victim of an attempted aggravated rape when a man entered the bathroom where she was and tried to force her into sexual relations. The victim managed to escape and, along with her mother, reported the crime to the police. Following the report, the man was arrested and taken into custody.
29/07/2025 – A man suspected of planning an attack against a public servant was arrested on July 29, 2025, in Belém. During the operation, the police seized 23 portions of marijuana and R$483 in cash. The suspect, believed to be linked to a criminal faction, was reportedly planning the attack in São Miguel do Guamá. He was apprehended near a university in the Guamá neighborhood after attempting to flee. The case remains under investigation to identify others involved.
30/07/2025 – Two unidentified men were killed during a shootout with military police on Wednesday (30) in the Terra Firme neighborhood. According to the 20th Military Police Battalion, officers were patrolling near Passagem Vera Cruz when they came under fire from two armed suspects. The police returned fire, injuring both men, who were taken to a local emergency unit but died from their wounds.
31/07/2025 – Two armed men robbed customers at an auto parts store on Avenida Pedro Miranda, in the Pedreira neighborhood, on Thursday morning (31). Security footage shows the pair arriving on a motorcycle and aggressively approaching the victims. One suspect pulled a firearm while the other collected valuables. Both were wearing helmets. After the robbery, they fled the scene. According to the Civil Police, one suspect was killed in a shootout with Military Police, while the other was arrested and taken to the Sacramenta precinct. The case remains under investigation.
31/07/2025 – On Thursday afternoon (31), a robbery attempt took place on Avenida Senador Lemos in the Telégrafo neighborhood. According to police reports, a patrol vehicle encountered the fleeing suspect and initiated a brief pursuit. The man was arrested on Travessa Djalma Dutra, and a firearm was seized. Witnesses stated that the suspect was shot in the leg by an unidentified armed individual who intervened during the attempted robbery. 31/07/2025 – A Nigerian man wanted for drug trafficking was arrested at Belém International Airport on Thursday (31), just before boarding a flight to São Paulo. Subject to an Interpol Red Notice issued by Argentina, he was previously arrested in 2020 for involvement in an international cocaine trafficking ring operating via the Colombian border. According to Brazil’s Federal Police, he is also suspected of sending cocaine in parcels to Delhi, Paris, Bangkok, and Rotterdam. He was transferred to the local prison system and will be extradited to Argentina, where he faces up to 12 years in prison.
