22/09/2023 – A man died after being shot in the head on Avenida Brasil, near Bonsucesso, North Zone. The incident caused the closure of two lanes of the central lane of the road. According to the police, a civil police officer who was off duty noticed the moment a criminal was trying to steal a driver’s cell phone and fired a shot at him. The robber succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

24/09/2023 – The Military Police recorded a series of mass robberies in Praia do Leme, South Zone. Two men were arrested. After the incident, policing was reinforced in the region. During the action, the police were attacked, and the criminals threw several objects at them. Videos circulating on social media show the moment of confrontation. A tourist from Puerto Rico had her cell phone and wallet stolen.
24/09/2023 – A judge was shot in the leg during an attempted robbery on Rodovia Washington Luis, in the municipality of Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense. According to the Federal Highway Police, two criminals on a motorcycle tried to rob him, he reacted and exchanged shots with the bandits.
25/09/2023 – The internal affairs department of the Military Police (PM) carried out an action to arrest three police officers, suspected of acting in the security of the offender Rogério de Andrade in a shopping mall on Avenida das Américas, Barra da Tijuca, West Zone. According to the PM, agents managed to locate the soldiers and seize weapons they were using. During the action, there were no shots or injuries.
25/09/2023 – A motorcyclist filmed the moment he was robbed by two men on Rua Doutor Garnier, in Rocha, North Zone. The recording shows the time when another motorcyclist, who was carrying a delivery company backpack, approached him and pointed a gun at the victim’s head. The criminals stole the man’s cell phone, wedding ring and motorcycle.
25/09/2023 – Criminals set fire to a bus near the Pavuna metro station, on Judite Guerra street. According to the Fire Department, the fire was controlled, and no one was injured. A group of armed criminals also prevented the movement of trains on the Belford Roxo branch of SuperVia. According to the company, the bandits’ action took place near the Barros Filho station. The region of Costa Barros, Barros Filho and Pavuna, North Zone, is going through a moment of terror caused by the war between rival factions vying for control of drug sales.
25/09/2023 – A man was arrested for sexually harassing a passenger on a bus in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, West Zone. The case happened on a bus on the Campo Grande-Menezes Côrtes line. The 51-year-old criminal was arrested by military personnel from the Present Security Program. According to agents, the man sat next to a woman and masturbated during the journey. The victim managed to take images of the act and handed it over to the police.
26/09/2023 – Former reality show participant Diego Alemão was arrested for illegal possession of a weapon. He was on Avenida Delfim Moreira, in Leblon, South Zone. According to officers, Diego said he would shoot in the street. According to the Military Police, a team was called to check the presence of an armed man in Ipanema. Upon arriving at the scene, the police were informed that he had gotten into a taxi. The police managed to intercept the vehicle on Avenida Delfim Moreira. When Alemão was searched, officers found the revolver.
27/09/2023 – A man was injured in the explosion of a homemade grenade on a bus on Avenida Brasil, near Barros Filho, North Zone, around 21:30. Two other people were hit. Residents report that the attack on the bus was coordinated by criminals from the Gogó do Chapadão community with the intention of blaming drug traffickers from Complexo da Pedreira. The two groups have been competing for control of drug trafficking for about a week. The objective of the action would be to cause a distraction and direct police efforts to that area.
27/09/2023 – Six men died in Vargem Grande, West Zone, during a shooting with police officers from the Special Operations Battalion (Bope) of the Military Police (PM). According to the corporation, they all have links to drug trafficking. The shooting took place during an operation in the Cascatinha community. According to the PM, teams were shot at by bandits. A rifle and five pistols were seized.
28/09/2023 – A driver was robbed and attacked with a gun to the head after her car was stolen on Rua Alberto Pasqualini, in Pechincha, West Zone. Images show that the crime happened when the woman was walking along the sidewalk and heading to her car. The two criminals fled.
28/09/2023 – Officers from the Narcotics Repression Police Station (DRE) arrested two members of Zinho’s militia in the neighborhood of Guaratiba, West Zone. Two weapons were found with them, a revolver, and a pistol.
