28/02/2025 – A condominium was burglarized by two criminals for the fourth time in a short period of time, in the Campo Grande neighborhood of Santos. The men tried to enter the building in three different ways, one of which was by calling all the apartments, until someone accidentally opened the door. The crime took place on Rua Visconde de Cairu, around 23:00, on Friday (28). The criminals stole the bicycle that a woman had recently bought as a gift for her boyfriend. She also adds that this situation has been happening every three months, believing that the criminals migrate from neighborhood to neighborhood.

01/03/2025 – A 28-year-old man, who was carrying a rifle, died during a shootout with military police officers in Morro São Bento, in Santos, on the morning of this Saturday (01/03). Another man was arrested after the agents found drugs and a stolen motorcycle in his house. The Public Security Department (SSP) reported that the team was patrolling the hill when they saw the suspect with a rifle. Also according to the agency, the man fled the approach and hid in a house. He then shot at the police officers, and one of the agents intervened, shooting the suspect, who was taken to the hospital, but did not survive. A 5.56 caliber rifle was seized.
02/03/2025 – On Sunday (02/03), four young men stole bicycles armed with knives in the Emissário Submarino, in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo. They fled at high speed with the bicycles, but two were later arrested by the Municipal Civil Guard.
05/03/2025 – An 18-year-old man committed a series of armed robberies in Santos and São Vicente. One of the crimes took place on Avenida Antônio Emmerich, where he robbed a store on Saturday (01/03). Another crime was a motorcycle robbery. He was arrested on Wednesday (05/03), in Vila São Jorge neighborhood, in Santos Northeast Zone, after a police chase.
09/03/2025 – Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) Alexsandro Lima do Nascimento was killed in an attack carried out by drug traffickers in Morro do Itararé, in São Vicente, on the coast of São Paulo, on the morning of last Sunday (09/03). The incident occurred amid an operation and the patrol was attacked by surprise. Nobody was arrested.
09/03/2025 – A 19-year-old man and woman were arrested for robbery and extortion on Gonzaga Beach, on Sunday (09/03). They attempted to steal the phones of three beachgoers and forced one of them to make a PIX transfer of R$199. Agents of the Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM) intervened after being alerted to a fight on the beach. The suspects, held by witnesses, were taken to the police station.
11/03/2025 – The Federal Police arrested seven suspects for international drug trafficking on Tuesday (11/03), including six in the Baixada Santista region and one in Lisbon, Portugal. The criminals smuggled drugs onto ships using divers. Searches were conducted in Guarujá, Santos, and other cities.
14/03/2025 – The Civil Police of Santos conducted the second phase of Operation Faketech on Friday (14/03), targeting a criminal network involved in illegal gambling and money laundering. Raids were carried out in luxury properties in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Rio Grande do Norte. Authorities seized R$ 500,000 in cash, luxury vehicles, jewelry, restricted firearms, and drugs.
15/03/2025 – A woman was found dead with nasal bleeding on Avenida Affonso Pena, in Aparecida, on Saturday (15/03). She had no identification documents and appeared to be homeless. The case was recorded as a suspicious death by the Central Police Judiciary and is under investigation.
19/03/2025 – A father and son, both truck drivers, were kidnapped in the Chico de Paula neighborhood, on Wednesday (19/03), while waiting to unload at a port terminal. Ten armed criminals approached them, held them captive for five hours, and stole their cell phones, bank cards, and over R$ 50,000 through financial transactions. The victims were later abandoned on Rodovia Anchieta.
20/03/2025 – A 39-year-old man was fatally shot during a shootout with military police at Morro Nova Cintra, on Thursday afternoon (20/03). Officers were conducting an anti-drug operation when they were attacked by four armed suspects fleeing into the woods.
21/03/2025 – A woman was arrested on Friday (21/03), on Rua Cypriano Barata, in the Estuário neighborhood, after being caught participating in a scam involving the fraudulent sale of a steel coil shipment that was never delivered. The victim, a businessman, had paid for the cargo but received nothing. The case is under investigation by the 3rd Police Precinct in Santos.
23/03/2025 – Three men attempted to commit ATM fraud using a “chupa-cabra” device at a Caixa branch in Macuco, on Sunday night (23/03). The scammers rigged a terminal to trap cards and placed a fake customer service number on the machine to deceive victims into sharing sensitive data. When a 66-year-old man’s card got stuck, one suspect tried to assist him with the fake number, while another attacked the victim and a nearby off-duty guard intervened. The suspects fled but were arrested shortly after by military police.
23/03/2025 – Firefighters discovered a charred body wrapped in burning tires while responding to a fire in a wooded area near Avenida Jornalista Armando Gomes, in the Bom Retiro neighborhood, on Sunday afternoon (23/03). Due to the advanced state of carbonization, the victim’s identity could not be determined. The case is being investigated.
24/03/2025 – A 16-year-old girl was held captive for about 20 hours in an apartment in Santos, after being abducted by three men. The suspects forced her into a black car on Avenida Presidente Wilson in Itararé, São Vicente, around 15:00 on Monday (24/03). Taken to a three-story building, she was closely monitored as the kidnappers tried to access bank apps on her phone to extort money. Unable to do so, they stole R$ 200 hidden in her phone case. She was released the next morning (Tuesday, 25/03) near the Santos–São Vicente border.
26/03/2025 – A man was caught trafficking marijuana disguised as a food delivery worker in Santos. Acting on prior tips, police officers from the 7th District set up surveillance on Rua Tolentino Filgueiras, in the Gonzaga neighborhood, where the suspect was spotted on Wednesday (26/03). Upon being approached, the man admitted he was dealing drugs. During the control, officers discovered marijuana hidden inside his delivery bag.
27/03/2025 – Four individuals on bicycles assaulted a woman on Bartolomeu de Gusmão Avenue, along the seafront in Santos, on Wednesday (27/03). As they attempted to flee, two of the assailants jumped into the sea but were captured by the military police. The other two managed to escape. The stolen belongings were recovered.
TRENDS & ADVICE
- Be cautious when in the vicinity of Embaré, Ponto da Praia, Campo Grande, Rádio Clube, Downtown, and Estuário.
- Never visit neighborhoods on the hills, such as Morro de São Bento, Jabaquara, Saboo, and others.
- Avoid passing near the VLT tunnel, in José Menino, as recently many drug users and homeless people were removed from there and now stay in the streets of the region, especially next to the walls of the Clube dos Ingleses.
- The waterfront has many incidents of thefts and robberies (snatch and run), never display wealth, and avoid walking there during the night.
- During the Summer, risks increase, due to the bigger number of beachgoers.
- Residences in the neighborhoods of Pompeia, Gonzaga, Boqueirão, Embaré, Aparecida, Estuário, and Ponta da Praia are frequently targeted by thieves who look for bikes and items in the common areas.
- Make sure your building is well protected.
- Be cautious at all times, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, mobile phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand over to muggers if attacked.

- cooperate, do not try to run after the assailant as they might be armed or resort to violence.

- Cooperate in order to mitigate the risk of violence, and do not lie or provide false information to your kidnappers.
