04/11/2024 – A 75-year-old woman fell from the third floor of a building of the Marechal Humberto de Alencar Castelo Branco Housing Complex, the BNH, in the Aparecida neighborhood, on Monday night (04/11). The victim suffered head and chest trauma and was sent to the Santa Casa de Santos. The Civil Police are investigating a possible attempted murder by the son.

04/11/2024 – A 27-year-old man attacked attendants at a store located on Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto, in Gonzaga, on the morning of Monday (04/11). The case happened when the aggressor entered a store and asked the employee to lend him a cell phone to make a call. When the attendant refused the request, he assaulted the worker and damaged the business. According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP), no one was injured.
05/11/2024 – A shootout between criminals and military police that took place in Morro do São Bento, on Tuesday night (05/11), resulted in the death of a 17-year-old suspect and a 4-year-old child. Another suspect, 15 years old, was shot and is hospitalized under police escort.
06/11/2024 – A PM patrol was shot at in the early hours of Wednesday (06/11), near the bus terminal. According to the police report, a man-made death threats against the agents and then shot at the patrol, who retaliated. No one was injured and the suspect fled to Morro de São Bento.
07/11/2024 – The Federal Revenue Service seized 605 kilograms of cocaine on Thursday (07/11), at the Port of Santos. According to the agency, the drug was hidden in a shipment of 13 tons of frozen açaí. According to the Federal Revenue Service, the container where the drug was found was destined for Portugal, but before that, it would be transshipped at the Port of Tanger Med, in Morocco.
07/11/2024 – A man died in a confrontation with military police, on Thursday morning (07/11), in José Lamacchia Square, in the Bom Retiro neighborhood. According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP), the suspect was part of a group that tried to avoid the patrol’s approach and shot at the agents, who retaliated.
11/11/2024 – The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) of Santos seized R$ 30,000 in stolen objects in an operation carried out on Monday morning (11/11), in Morro Santa Maria. A routine patrol seized a vehicle with a tampered license plate. Inside, agents found more than 3,400 units of cigarettes stolen from a business in Macuco. The suspects fled.
12/11/2024 – The Federal Revenue Service thwarted an attempt to send 186 kg of cocaine through the Port of Santos on Tuesday afternoon (12/11). The drug was mixed with the shipment of sugar and was destined for Ghana, Africa. This is the second seizure in less than a week. Last Thursday (07/11), more than half a ton had already been seized.
12/11/2024 – A woman called a security guard a “black demon” at the entrance to the Miramar mall and filmed her crime, in the Gonzaga neighborhood, on Tuesday (12/11). In the video, she also stated that the professional is “African” and “came to steal from Brazilians”. The woman is a content producer and has more than 50,000 followers on Instagram.
22/11/2024 – A woman who worked as a commercial manager of a store at Praiamar Shopping, in the Aparecida neighborhood, was arrested by the police on Friday (22/11). She was on the run for drug trafficking.
24/11/2024 – Two military police officers were shot at when they were going to attend a fight between neighbors on Rua Dr. Carlos Alberto Curado, in Morro do José Menino, on Sunday morning (24/11). The agents retaliated and the corporation vehicle ended up being hit by two shots. The suspects fled and were not identified. No one was injured.
24/11/2024 – A 49-year-old self-employed man was murdered by two men on Avenida Bartolomeu de Gusmão, on the border of the Aparecida and Ponta da Praia neighborhoods, after a fight, on Sunday night (24/11). Then, the victim was placed in the suspects’ car and dropped off on Rua Antônio Maia, in Macuco. The suspects confessed after being approached by the Military Police.
27/11/2024 – The Federal Revenue Service seized almost half a ton of cocaine that was to be taken from the Port of Santos to Sierra Leone, in Africa, on Wednesday afternoon (27/11). Customs sniffer dogs signaled. When they opened the compartment, agents found 491 kg of cocaine hidden in bags of mortars.
TRENDS & ADVICE
- Be cautious when in the vicinity of Embaré, Ponto da Praia, Campo Grande, Rádio Clube, Downtown and Estuário.
- Never visit neighborhoods on the hills, such as Morro de São Bento, Jabaquara, Saboo and others.
- The waterfront has many incidents of opportunistic thefts, never display wealth and avoid walks there during the night.
- Residences in the of Pompeia, Gonzaga, Boqueirão, Embaré, Aparecida, Estuário and Ponta da Praia are frequently targeted by thieves. Make sure your building is well protected.
- Be cautious at all times, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, mobile phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand over to muggers if attacked.
- In case of robbery: cooperate, do not try to run after the assailant as they might be armed or resort to violence.
- In case of kidnapping:
- Cooperate in order to mitigate the risk of violence, and do not lie or provide false information to your kidnappers.
- Bear in mind that the vast majority of kidnappings are financially motivated, and that negotiation may be lengthy.
