SANTOS SECURITY INCIDENTS – NOVEMBER MONTHLY BULLETIN

The Federal Revenue Service intercepted 670 tons of quartz at the Port of Santos during the month of October 2025. The operation blocked 25 containers of raw crystals in a series of attempts at irregular export and underreporting, which would cause a billion-dollar loss to Brazil. The exporting company lacked the necessary legal documentation to prove the lawful origin and environmental licenses, constituting the crime of mineral usurpation.

02/11/2025 – On Sunday (2), a 23-year-old man was arrested in Santos after running over a pedestrian, throwing him into Canal 3 on Avenida Washington Luís in the Boqueirão neighborhood. According to São Paulo’s Public Security Secretariat, the driver was intoxicated and fled without providing help. Security cameras recorded the incident around 8:30 a.m., showing the vehicle hitting the victim as he crossed a pedestrian lane. Police later located the suspect at home and arrested him. The case was filed as negligent bodily injury, failure to render aid, fleeing the scene, and drunk driving. The 40-year-old victim, found conscious but disoriented, suffered head trauma and arm fractures and remains hospitalized at Santa Casa de Santos.
