The Sou Paz Institute published a study stating that 68% of women victims of femicide in the state of São Paulo were killed at home. The Sou da Paz study analyzed all 124 cases of femicide registered in the database of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) in the first half of 2024 in the state. Of the total, 85 women were murdered in their homes, which represents 68%.

02/08/2024 – A man was arrested for attacking a homeless person with a machete on Friday afternoon (2), around Ibirapuera Park, in the Vila Mariana region. According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), Military Police officers were on patrol when they saw the attacker with the victim under an overpass and immediately stopped the attack. The reason behind the incident was not released.
03/08/2024 – A group of at least 12 friends who were at a picnic at Villa Lobos Park, in the West Zone of São Paulo, were the target of a collective robbery on Saturday night (03). The group was celebrating a birthday when they were approached by two young men. One of the suspects was armed and demanded the group sit on their knees and hand over their personal belongings.
06/08/2024 – Multiple police agencies carried out an operation in Cracolândia, a region known for the sale and consumption of drugs in downtown São Paulo, on Tuesday (6). The operation aimed to arrest three metropolitan civil guards, a former agent of the Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM), and two drug traffickers. According to the investigation, the guards and the former guard are suspected of being part of a militia accused of extorting money from merchants in the area.
