21/08/2026 – On Friday (21), robbers broke into the home of renowned violinist Elisa Fukuda in the Aclimação neighborhood, holding the 74-year-old musician and her brother hostage while they slept. After demanding gold and cash that were not in the house, the criminals forced bank transfers and stole personal items, cash, and two rare Italian violins—a Giuseppe Gagliano and a Guadagnini—along with three bows. Neither Fukuda nor her brother suffered physical injuries during the break-in, and the Civil Police registered the incident as armed robbery at the 8th Police District, as investigations and community efforts to recover the instruments remain ongoing.

21/08/2026 – On Friday (21), a 23-year-old state school teacher was placed under investigation for attempted sexual harassment involving three female students at the Professor Eurico Figueiredo State School in Jaçanã, North Zone. Following allegations made by the teenagers during the afternoon, school authorities contacted the students’ guardians and reported the incident to the police. 21/08/2026 – On Friday (21), a man died after being shot in the face during an armed robbery in Campo Limpo, South Zone. The incident occurred around 3:00 on Antonio Garcia Moya Street following a party, where the victim and his girlfriend were involved in a verbal dispute. Two armed men on a motorcycle approached the couple to steal their belongings; when the man attempted to fight off the attackers, they shot him in the face and fled with his cell phone. Local residents rushed the victim to the Campo Limpo Emergency Room, where police were dispatched hours later, but he succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s sister and girlfriend were unharmed.
22/08/2026 – On Saturday (22), a Civil Police officer was arrested during an internal affairs operation targeting a rogue group that beat and kidnapped a man in the Artur Alvim neighborhood. On August 18, surveillance cameras captured the violent abduction, showing armed individuals wearing fake police badges and operating a vehicle modified to resemble an undercover police car, in which they stuffed the handcuffed victim into the trunk. The victim remains missing, while co-conspirator officer Rafael Juergen Schult, his brother, and a police informant fled and are currently sought under outstanding arrest warrants.
22/08/2026 – On Saturday (22), a truck carrying documented home appliances for customer delivery was hijacked on Pantaleão Brás Street in the Rio Pequeno neighborhood, West Zone. Following the vehicle’s tracking signal, Military Police officers from the 23rd Battalion located the hijacked truck, successfully recovered the entire cargo, and arrested three suspects involved in the robbery.
22/08/2026 – On Saturday (22), four men attempted to rob a jewelry store in the Sé district of central São Paulo after renting an office in the same building two months prior to plan the heist. Using a fake maintenance request for after-hours access, the group broke into the shop with a blowtorch and began loading suitcases full of stolen rings, chains, and watches into vehicles with fake license plates. Their plan collapsed when a suspicious doorman alerted passing Military Police officers, leading to the immediate arrest of all four suspects at the scene and nearby.
23/08/2026 – On Sunday (23), a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg by a Military Police officer during a domestic violence response in Parque Rebouças, South Zone. Official reports state the officer fired after the man damaged a gate and tried to grab his gun, though local witnesses disputed this, claiming officers violently escalated the encounter and threatened nearby residents. The wounded man underwent surgery at Campo Limpo Municipal Hospital, and the incident was registered at the 89th Police District while both Civil and Military Police review body-cam footage to investigate the intervention.
24/08/2026 – On Monday (24), Military Police officers arrested a man on Jabaquara Avenue, in the Saúde neighborhood, South Zone, for attempting to murder his partner a week earlier in Grajaú. On August 17, the victim was discovered unconscious with severe head and facial injuries by her two young sons returning from school, after which she was rushed to the Parelheiros Emergency Care Unit while her children were placed under the care of the Tutelary Council. Following an anonymous tip tracked by intelligence teams and the 3rd Battalion’s Tactical Force, officers located and apprehended the fleeing suspect, taking him to the 25th Police District to face attempted feminicide charges.
24/08/2026 – On Monday (24), two off-duty Military Police officers were arrested in the Ponte Rasa neighborhood, East Zone, for robbing three young people and raping a 17-year-old girl. The victims accepted a ride outside a store before the armed officers drove them to a secluded spot in Parque Jacuí/Pantanal to steal their phones and commit the sexual assault. After tracking the suspects’ getaway car, their commanding officer presented both men at the local 24th Police District, where the victims formally identified them.
