01/10/2025 – A man under electronic monitoring was recaptured on Wednesday (1st) by Pará’s Grupamento de Busca e Recaptura (GBR) after confessing his role in the weekend kidnapping of an entire family in Belém. The victims were intercepted on Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, in the Reduto neighborhood, and forced to their home in Marco, where the assailants looted the residence and stole vehicles. He was the first suspect arrested in the case.
02/10/2025 – The Civil Police launched Operation “Liberdade” this Thursday (2) in the Guamá neighborhood, executing 20 search and seizure warrants at 11 sites under investigation for drug trafficking, criminal association, and other offenses, and seizing a stolen motorcycle. The action mobilized over 350 officers, 80 vehicles, and two helicopters, coordinated by Denarc and DRCO with support from several specialized units.

02/10/2025 – On Thursday (2), two men were arrested in Belém during Operation Fim de Farsa for posing as homeless individuals to steal from an elderly woman outside a bank. According to the Civil Police, the suspects pretended to beg for money, then stole her cellphone and cash before using her personal data to make transfers and loans totaling over R$16,000. After the theft, the victim and her family received threats, prompting further investigation. The two detainees, who had outstanding arrest warrants, remain in custody while police continue searching for a third suspect.
03/10/2025 – On Friday morning (3), the Civil Police of Pará launched Operation Lasgrael, arresting three suspects and seizing a vehicle and equipment used in a large-scale fraud scheme against the state’s electricity concessionaire. According to investigators, the group falsified documents and entered fraudulent data into the company’s system to cancel or transfer customer debts, causing losses estimated in the millions. The company itself alerted authorities after detecting irregularities through its internal compliance system. The detainees remain in custody while police continue investigations to identify other participants.
04/10/2025 – A military police officer was shot during an attempted robbery in the Sacramenta neighborhood of Belém on Saturday night (4). The officer was hit in the arm but managed to return fire, wounding the suspect in the leg. The assailant fled but was later captured and taken to a hospital under the custody of the state prison administration. The injured officer was also hospitalized and is in stable condition. The case is being investigated by the Homicide Division of the Civil Police.
04/10/2025 – On Saturday night (4), a fight broke out between security guards and street vendors at a shopping mall in Belém’s Reduto neighborhood. The confrontation, recorded by bystanders, began when a guard kicked a vendor’s cooler, prompting another vendor to push the guard and throw a plastic chain. The incident caused disorder at the mall’s entrance but was quickly contained. In a statement, the establishment condemned the violence and said immediate measures were taken to control the situation.
06/10/2025 – On Monday (6), a man was killed during a confrontation with officers from the Military Police’s ROTAM unit in the Outeiro district of Belém. According to police reports, the suspect allegedly aimed and fired a weapon at the officers, prompting them to return fire. He was hit and later died after being taken to a medical facility. A 20-gauge shotgun, ammunition, and three cell phones were seized at the scene and sent to the Organized Crime Division (DRCO).
07/10/2025 – A 58-year-old mototaxi driver was arrested for sexual exploitation against four teenagers in Belém. The man was suspected of facilitating and exploiting the prostitution of minors. The investigation began after the disappearance of a 12-year-old girl, who was found at the suspect’s residence. The arrest took place on Tuesday (7) in the morning.
08/10/2025 – On Wednesday (8), a fish seller was stabbed to death during an argument over 20 reais at the Ver-o-Peso market in Belém. The victim, identified as Manoel Tavares Trindade, known as “Mandelão do Jurunas,” reportedly refused to pay a fish carrier, which led to a fight. During the altercation, the carrier allegedly attacked him with a fish knife, killing him on the spot. The suspect, who was also injured by other workers, was taken to the hospital and later arrested in the act. The Homicide Division is investigating the case.
08/10/2025 – On Wednesday (8), the Federal Police launched Operation Proteção Integral III in Pará as part of a nationwide effort to combat the sexual abuse and exploitation of children and adolescents, particularly online. The coordinated action involved 16 states, with 182 search warrants and 11 preventive arrest orders issued across the country. So far, authorities have reported 37 arrests, two minors apprehended, and two victims rescued. In total, 617 federal officers and 273 civil police agents took part in the operation. According to the PF, the initiative builds on earlier phases conducted in March and May 2025 and forms part of an ongoing national strategy to combat cybercrimes violating children’s rights. The police also urged parents to monitor their children’s internet use and discuss online safety to prevent further cases of abuse.
08/10/2025 – On Wednesday (8), two bricklayers — one identified as Rafael Rodrigues Pereira, known as “Gordo do Abrigo” — were shot dead on Rua Deus Proverá, in the Asa Branca community of Mosqueiro. According to police, the victims were killed after a heated argument with other individuals who opened fire and fled. Both men died at the scene. Rafael had a prior arrest for double homicide, but investigators have not confirmed whether his past was linked to the crime. The Civil Police’s Mosqueiro unit is conducting an investigation and interviewing witnesses, though no arrests have yet been made.
08/10/2025 – On Wednesday (8), seven men were arrested in Belém during Operation “Filhos da Ira,” targeting members of a Remo football club supporters’ group accused of orchestrating violent attacks against rival fans. The investigation began on July 24 after a group ambushed a rival supporter in Sacramenta, beating him with sticks, stones, and metal bars — an assault captured and circulated on social media. The suspects face charges including attempted aggravated homicide, bodily injury, vehicle tampering, and criminal association. According to police, the attack was premeditated and planned by a faction within the organized fan group. Authorities continue to search for additional suspects.
08/10/2025 – On Wednesday (08), Brazil’s Federal Police launched Operation Eclesiastes in Pará, arresting 19 people accused of participating in an international drug trafficking and money laundering network. Authorities executed 30 search and seizure warrants across Belém, Ananindeua, and nearby municipalities. Police from the 38th BPM (Batalhão Águia) found eight homemade bombs hidden in a teenager’s backpack during the operation. The suspects were taken to local police stations — the minors to the Division for Adolescent Assistance and the adult to judicial custody — while authorities continue investigating the source of the explosives and other participants in the clash.
16/10/2025 – On Thursday (16), the Federal Police launched Operation Óbolo de Caronte in Belém to dismantle a criminal network suspected of embezzlement, bid-rigging, and money laundering in sanitation contracts worth about R$150 million. The investigation targets agreements signed between 2020 and 2024 under the former city administration, including the R$132 million Mata Fome Project. Officers executed 13 search warrants, suspended 12 municipal employees, and seized assets in Belém and Rio de Janeiro. 16/10/2025 – On Thursday (16), two men were arrested in connection with a murder of retired military police, killed on November 5, 2024, in the Panorama XXI housing complex in Belém’s Mangueirão neighborhood. One suspect was captured in the Campina area of Icoaraci, while the other was already in prison for a different crime. According to the Civil Police, both arrests were carried out under preventive warrants by the Homicide Division for Crimes Against Public Agents. Alberto was shot in the chest by armed men while inside a store and later died at the hospital.
17/10/2025 – On Friday (17), a man was shot dead in front of a convenience store in Icoaraci. Two men on a motorcycle carried out the attack; the passenger fired multiple shots while the driver also opened fire as the victim tried to flee. A second man at the scene was wounded and taken to a hospital. The crime occurred around 13:30 at the corner of Monsenhor José Maria Azevedo and Oito de Maio streets. The Civil Police’s Homicide Division of Icoaraci is investigating the case, but the motive remains unknown.
20/10/2025 – On Monday (20), a man stole electrical cables from the central divider of Avenida Duque de Caxias, in the Marco neighborhood. The Municipal Guard, led by Inspector Dimitri Cavalcante, searched the area but failed to find the suspect, who allegedly fled into a nearby alley. Authorities suspect the cables were sold to unregulated scrapyards, a recurring problem causing power outages and damage to public property. The Guard announced it will increase patrols in the area and urged residents to report similar thefts to emergency numbers.
21/10/2025 – On Tuesday (21), a military police officer was shot in the face by two men on a motorcycle in the Cruzeiro neighborhood of Icoaraci. The attack took place on Travessa Itaboraí, and the case is being investigated as an attempted robbery-homicide. The officer, who has not been officially identified, was first taken to the local UPA clinic and later transferred to the Metropolitan Hospital in Ananindeua. His condition has not been disclosed. 23/10/2025 – On Thursday (23), in the Fátima neighborhood, a man was arrested in flagrante for assaulting his pregnant partner, who is four months along. The victim reported repeated episodes of domestic violence, including threats, confinement, and physical aggression. During the latest incident, the suspect locked her inside their home, destroyed furniture, and threw a piece of mirror that injured her hand. She managed to escape with help from a passerby and sought refuge in a pharmacy before reporting the case. The police found the residence destroyed, arrested the aggressor, and issued emergency protective measures for the victim.
23/10/2025 – On Thursday (23), a shootout broke out in the parking lot of a supermarket in the Bengui neighborhood after a man fleeing an attempted robbery at a currency exchange shop in Parque Verde took a motorcycle taxi driver hostage. Surveillance footage shows the suspect exchanging gunfire with a military police officer before using the driver as a human shield to escape. The gunman fled on a black motorcycle driven by an accomplice. No one was injured. The Civil Police are investigating the case, and searches continue to locate the suspects.
23/10/2025 – On Thursday (23), an armed robber stormed a store on Avenida Senador Lemos, in Sacramenta neighborhood, and stole a security guard’s firearm. Surveillance footage shows the assailant entering the establishment with a gun drawn, immediately pointing it at the guard, who was rendered powerless to react. The suspect fled moments later with the weapon. Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing the video images to identify the perpetrator, but no arrests have been made so far.
24/10/2025 – On Friday morning (24), a street vendor was shot dead near a snack stand in the Panorama XXI complex, Mangueirão neighborhood. The victim was sitting in a chair preparing to start work when a man on a bicycle approached and shot him in the head. The attacker, disguised as a delivery worker, fled after the shooting, abandoning the firearm, bag, and bicycle, which were later seized by police. The Homicide Division is investigating the case, including possible motives and any prior criminal links of the victim.
25/10/2025 – On Saturday night (25), an attempted homicide targeted a retired military police sergeant in the Jurunas neighborhood. Security footage shows an armed man entering a store and trying to shoot the officer from behind, but the gun repeatedly failed. A fight ensued, during which the sergeant fell and was struck before returning fire as the attacker fled with accomplices in a car and on a motorcycle. The victim sustained minor injuries, received medical care, and is recovering. The case is under investigation by the Pará Civil Police.
26/10/2025 – On Sunday (26), a woman driving a car ran over several people gathered at a snack stand on Travessa Monte Alegre, in Cidade Velha neighborhood. Witnesses said she appeared intoxicated and accelerated toward the crowd, injuring at least four people who were taken to the hospital by firefighters. Images from the scene show overturned tables and debris scattered across the area. The woman, who reportedly had a male passenger, was detained at the site.
26/10/2025 – On Sunday (26), security cameras in Belém’s Umarizal neighborhood recorded a 30-year-old doctor dragging his 27-year-old girlfriend with his car for more than a block after physically assaulting her during a street argument. The footage shows the man pushing the victim to the ground and later driving off while she was partly inside the vehicle, dragging her for about 250 meters. The suspect turned himself in to the police in Icoaraci, where his preventive arrest warrant was executed. He remains in custody.
27/10/2025 – On Monday (27), the body of a six-year-old boy was found inside a suitcase left in front of São Jorge Cemetery, in the Marambaia neighborhood. He had been missing since the previous night and was discovered by a passerby who alerted the authorities. The child’s hands were tied, and a boxing glove was found inside the suitcase; forensic experts suspect death by asphyxiation. The main suspect, a local man with a criminal record, was beaten to death by residents after being accused of involvement. Police are investigating both the homicide and the lynching, while forensic teams analyze DNA evidence to confirm details of the crime.
27/10/2025 – On Monday night (27), a retired military police officer was shot inside his own food establishment on Estrada Velha de Outeiro, in the Icoaraci district. Two armed men arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire, hitting the victim in the legs. He was rescued by firefighters and taken to a nearby hospital. The suspects fled, and the case is under investigation by the Homicide Division for Public Agents.
27/10/2025 – On Monday (27), residents of the Cremação neighborhood discovered the decomposing body of a naked woman in a vacant lot at the corner of Rua dos Caripunas and Avenida Generalíssimo Deodoro. Police and forensic teams were called to the scene to examine the remains and collect evidence.
28/10/2025 – On Tuesday (28), a man was arrested in Icoaraci, after police found 260 bricks of drugs hidden inside the tires of a truck at a local port. The joint operation involved the Civil Police, Federal Highway Police, and Federal Revenue Service, following an investigation into narcotics shipments traveling from Amazonas to Pará. Using sniffer dogs, officers uncovered large quantities of skunk marijuana and MDMA concealed in one of two trucks arriving from Manaus. The driver was arrested in flagrante.
29/10/2025 – On Wednesday (29), a man was shot dead in the face around 6 a.m. at Praça do Relógio, in Belém’s Cidade Velha neighborhood. Witnesses said the killer, wearing a mototaxi shirt and riding a red Honda Bros, approached and fired several times before fleeing. The scene drew a crowd, and police had to intervene when bystanders tried to lynch a man accused of filming the body — 18 people were detained for attacking patrol cars. The suspect remains unidentified, and the motive is unknown.
31/10/2025 – On Friday (31), Brazil’s Federal Police launched a major operation in Pará and Santa Catarina to dismantle a transnational criminal faction involved in drug trafficking, extortion, and attacks against law enforcement. Nine people were arrested in coordinated raids across Belém, Tomé-Açu, Paragominas, Tailândia, Santa Izabel, Salinópolis, Castanhal, Abaetetuba, Brusque, and Florianópolis. Investigators said the group’s leaders planned violent actions such as arson, robberies, and homicides targeting security agents. Warrants were issued for 33 suspects, most of whom remain fugitives.
