SÃO PAULO: VIOLENT CRIME DOWN IN OCTOBER 2025

The number of robberies and thefts recorded in the state of São Paulo fell by 22.5% and 5.9%, respectively, in October of this year, according to data released on Friday, November 28, by the State Public Security Secretariat (SSP). There were also reductions in reports of rape (14.6%), robberies resulting in death (38.5%), and intentional homicides (6.3%). In this last category, the decline was even more pronounced in the city of São Paulo, reaching 30%. On the other hand, the capital saw a slightly smaller drop in robberies (19.83%) and a very modest decrease in thefts (0.33%), which continue to trend upward in the year-to-date numbers.
