Despite no resistance being offered, one of the assailants fired a shot into Peixoto’s abdomen before fleeing with the victims’ cell phones. Peixoto remains hospitalized but is reportedly in stable condition and recovering.

The assailants managed to flee, allowing authorities to secure the victim and recover the entire shipment.
