20/03/2026 – A man was arrested on Friday (20), after climbing the wall of Colégio Santa Cruz in Alto dos Pinheiros, western São Paulo, while attempting to evade the Military Police. The suspect was part of a group of three hooded individuals who fled in a rented car with cloned plates following a reported residential burglary in Vila Madalena. During the high-speed chase, the suspects discarded stolen jewelry before crashing their vehicle. While two were detained at the crash site, the third leaped into the school grounds during class hours, causing brief panic among students before being apprehended by campus security and officers.
20/03/2026 – On Friday (20), a snatch-and-grab robbery occurred on Barão de Paranapiacaba Street in central São Paulo, where a man was stripped of his chain in broad daylight by an assailant who fled despite the victim’s attempt to react. This modus operandi is identical to the incident on March 16 on José Bonifácio Street, where a couple was violently surrounded by three criminals who knocked the woman to the ground to steal her jewelry. These attacks highlight the persistence of the “Chain Gang” in the Sé district, which, despite a slight decrease compared to last year, still recorded 219 robberies and 733 thefts in January 2026 alone.
21/03/2026 – On Saturday (21), a 35-year-old woman was arrested for stealing at least 11 smartphones and a camera from fans during the Lollapalooza festival at the Interlagos Circuit in São Paulo. Civil Police tracked her down using a victim’s GPS app, discovering the devices hidden in her undergarments and pockets. The suspect confessed to working with two accomplices who remain at large. Among the recovered items were high-end phones worth over R$ 10,000, including one belonging to an American tourist.
22/03/2026 – A 30-year-old doctor was the victim of an attempted rape while providing care at the Vila Santa Catarina UPA in southern São Paulo on Sunday (22). The assailant trapped her in the consultation room and physically assaulted her after she rejected his sexual advances, but she managed to fight back until a security guard intervened. 22/03/2026 – On Sunday (22), a criminal gang set up a fake parking lot in the Butantã neighborhood, near a concert venue in Western São Paulo. To deceive drivers, the criminals wore vests, used improvised signage, and issued fake printed receipts. At least five victims had their vehicles stolen within minutes of leaving their keys with the scammers. One high-value truck was recovered the following day, but police are still searching for the other cars and the suspects. Procon-SP advises consumers to verify CNPJ numbers, commercial identification, and to be wary of locations where only “valet” service is offered without clear credentials.
23/03/2026 – A motorcyclist was shot and detained by the Military Police after opening fire on pedestrians at a bus stop in the Sacomã district of southern São Paulo on Monday (23). The armed suspect shattered the glass of the bus shelter while threatening residents, triggering confrontation and exchange of gunfire with patrolling officers. Although the shooter initially attempted to flee on foot after being hit, he was apprehended nearby; no bystanders or officers were injured during the incident.
23/03/2026 – On Monday (23), 42-year-old nursing technician Simone Aparecida da Silva died after being brutally assaulted by her partner at their home in Vila Jacuí, East Zone. Although she was treated at the Tito Lopes emergency unit on Sunday and released with rib bruising, she returned home in a wheelchair and succumbed to her injuries the following day. Her partner, who was already wanted by federal authorities and had a history of violence against women, was arrested after initially blocking paramedics from reaching her.
23/03/2026 – On Monday (23), 21-year-old Gabriela Cardoso was assaulted during a confrontation at the Boss Bar in Tatuapé, East São Paulo. The action aims to solve a fraud case from 2025 involving an import company that was deceived by two suspects using fraudulent payment methods. In addition to the multi-million dollar fleet, agents recovered approximately R$ 55,000, US$ 10,000, and € 18,000 in cash, along with luxury watches, jewelry, and weapons.
25/03/2026 – On Wednesday (25), DEIC agents arrested a man suspected of participating in an armed robbery in the Jardins neighborhood. During the operation, police seized a Porsche, a luxury BMW motorcycle, and two firearms with filed-off serial numbers. This arrest follows a robbery on February 23, where individuals wearing fake Civil Police badges were filmed threatening a resident at his building’s entrance to steal cash. The accomplice is still at large.
26/03/2026 – On Thursday (26), Civil Police launched “Operation Refúgio Violado” in the Paraisópolis community of São Paulo to dismantle a violent gang responsible for home and pharmacy robberies. The operation, which involved the use of pepper spray following failed negotiations, was a response to a mobilization by student union organizations demanding better teaching conditions. While students reported instances of police aggression during the eviction, the Public Security Bureau stated there were no injuries and registered the case as property damage. Seduc-SP claims the group chose to occupy the building instead of attending a previously scheduled meeting with Secretary Renato Feder.
