23/03/2026 – On Monday night (23), the InterContinental luxury hotel in the Jardins district was targeted by eight shots that struck corridor windows on the 15th, 16th, and 17th floors. The Civil Police are conducting a vertical sweep of neighboring buildings to identify the source and the perpetrator, as the projectiles originated from outside the hotel. Although initial forensic theories consider the use of airsoft or pressure weapons due to guests reporting no audible gunfire, the impact force suggests lead ammunition was used. No injuries were reported.

28/03/2026 – On Saturday afternoon (28), an off-duty military police officer intervened in a robbery on Sapetuba Street in Butantã, West Zone, resulting in the death of the robbery victim. While attempting to hit the criminal, the officer fired his weapon and ended up shooting both the assailant and the person being robbed. The victim did not survive their injuries and died at the hospital, while the criminal remains in serious condition.
28/03/2026 – On Saturday (28), a 59-year-old man was shot and killed during a violent home invasion in the Tucuruvi neighborhood, North Zone. Three armed individuals broke into the residence, forced the couple to the upper floor, and demanded money and jewelry before beating and fatally shooting the homeowner, Edilson Correa Leite De Moraes. The criminals fled with various valuables in a vehicle that was later recovered by police in the Jacana district.
28/03/2026 – On Saturday (28), a 24-year-old municipal guard (GCM) from Guarulhos was detained following an armed confrontation with Military Police in Campo Limpo, South Zone. Officers were responding to reports of gunfire when they were shot at by a group of three men; during the exchange of fire, a 27-year-old suspect was wounded and remains hospitalized under police guard. Along with the GCM’s arrest, police seized two firearms: a service pistol belonging to the Guarulhos Municipal Guard and a revolver that had been stolen from a civil police officer in Sorocaba in 2021.
29/03/2026 – On Sunday (29), a double assault broke out in a bar in the Jardim Paulista neighborhood, where a man first attacked his 48-year-old partner before being restrained by security. The violence continued in their apartment, where he struck the victim again as well as her 18-year-old daughter who tried to intervene, which led to their hospitalization at Sirio-Libanes. The 42-year-old suspect was arrested in the act and presented a German passport, claiming to be a navy officer, which led authorities to verify the possible existence of diplomatic immunity.
31/03/2026 – A massive R$ 845 million fraud targeting the inheritance of João Carlos Di Gênio, founder of the Unip-Objetivo group, was uncovered by São Paulo police on Tuesday (31). The criminal group used a shell company and forged signatures to simulate the fictitious sale of 486 properties in Piraju. The alarm was raised by the estate’s executors after they received suspicious invoices. Only one suspect was arrested during the operation, while eight accomplices managed to flee, likely tipped off by a confidential data leak within the judicial system.
01/04/2026 – On Wednesday (1st), the Sao Paulo Civil Police launched an operation against a gang specializing in kidnapping drivers to steal and dismantle their vehicles. Agents from Garra and the Anti-Kidnapping Division are executing 14 search warrants and five arrest warrants across the capital and Guarulhos. The group is suspected of holding victims captive while stripping the cars in illegal chop shops. Investigations are ongoing to identify other members of the criminal network.
