10/07/2026 – On Friday (10), São Paulo’s elite ROTA shock police shot and killed a sixth suspect tied to the June 27 ambush of Lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel. The 45-year-old suspect opened fire on officers raiding a safe house in the São Mateus neighborhood and was neutralized, while his brother was taken into custody. Three suspects have now been arrested, six killed, and the state is offering a R$ 50,000 reward for the primary gunman as the lieutenant remains stabilized in the ICU.

10/07/2026 – On Friday (10), a father and son delivery team were shot during an attempted armed robbery outside a supermarket in São Paulo’s Cidade Tiradentes. The father fought back against two armed assailants, engaging in a hand-to-hand struggle before drawing a firearm and exchanging shots with the suspects as they fled on foot.
11/07/2026 – On Saturday (11), a 29-year-old professor suffered severe injuries, including facial fractures and a ruptured eardrum, in a homophobic attack on São Paulo’s Line 5-Lilac subway. The masked assailant beat the victim inside the car and on the platform while bystanders failed to intervene. Following a controversial response where guards transported both men in the same vehicle, the case was registered at the 27th DP and transferred to the specialized metro police (Delpom).
13/07/2026 – On Monday (13), a high-speed crash completely destroyed a car involved in an illegal street race under suspected drunk driving conditions on Avenida Sapopemba, in the São Mateus neighborhood, East zone. The 24-year-old driver lost control and wrapped his vehicle around a utility pole, sustaining severe injuries before being evacuated to the Hospital. A secondary vehicle fled the scene, and the Civil Police is investigating the crash for unauthorized racing and suspected DUI.
13/07/2026 – On Monday (13), an off-duty Civil Police officer shot and wounded two car wash employees who staged a fake robbery as a prank at a dealership in São Paulo’s Água Rasa neighborhood. Believing he was facing an active armed threat when one of the men pretended to draw a firearm, the detective opened fire, striking one in the chest and the other in the abdomen. The officer immediately administered first aid; both victims were hospitalized conscious, and a formal inquiry has been opened.
13/07/2026 – On Monday (13), a municipal passenger bus was stolen from its parking spot in São Paulo’s Cidade Tiradentes neighborhood. The thief bypassed the vehicle’s security systems on Rua Vlademir Cardoso Gonçalves and drove off before crashing into a supermarket on Rua do Musgo. The suspect immediately abandoned the stolen bus and fled the scene on foot, prompting a grand larceny and vehicle theft investigation by the 49th DP.
15/07/2026 – On Wednesday (15), “Operation Rescission” dismantled a massive BRL 3,8 billion tax fraud network involving law firms and consultancies in São Paulo and Paraná. The ring sold fake ICMS tax credits to over 850 corporations, using forged regulatory documents and hired actors to impersonate tax auditors on video calls. In one case alone, a company ducked BRL 72 million in taxes, and investigators have already penalized 752 companies while determining who acted as conscious co-conspirators.
