The police intervened just hours before the show, preventing a potential attack. The man is under investigation for planning a bombing using methods promoted by online extremist networks.
05/05/2025 – On Monday (5), the body of a 21-year-old man was found in the neighborhood of São José do Barreto. He had been shot while reportedly trying to enter the condominium where he lived. The Civil Police are investigating to identify the perpetrator and determine the motive. No suspects have been arrested so far.

06/05/2025 – On Tuesday (6), a man affiliated with the Red Command drug faction was arrested for drug trafficking in the Lagomar neighborhood. According to the police, he was caught selling narcotics and attempted to flee upon noticing the officers, but was quickly apprehended. During the arrest, authorities seized cocaine, crack, and skunk. He was taken to the 123rd Police Precinct along with the confiscated material.
07/05/2025 – On Wednesday afternoon (7), a woman was arrested for theft in downtown by the Segurança Presente team. She had been caught stealing clothing items such as blouses and dresses from a local store. After her arrest, police discovered she had a long criminal record, including eight prior offenses for fraud, threats, and theft. She remains in custody, charged with theft.
09/05/2025 – On Friday (09/05), a fugitive from justice was apprehended during a routine patrol in the Aeroporto neighborhood. Police officers became suspicious after the man gave inconsistent information during the stop. A background check confirmed two outstanding arrest warrants related to drug trafficking.
13/05/2025 – On Tuesday (13/05), two women were arrested in the Visconde neighborhood for involvement in drug trafficking. The operation was carried out by Civil Police from the 123rd Precinct as part of efforts to combat organized crime. Following a surveillance operation based on reports of drug activity, officers located the suspects. Drugs were seized. The women confessed to being affiliated with the criminal faction Friends of Friends (ADA).
13/05/2025 – On Tuesday (13/05), a 21-year-old man was arrested in the Novo Horizonte neighborhood for assaulting and threatening his aunt. According to the report, the two lived in the same residence, where the suspect pushed the victim multiple times, insulted her, and damaged a personal belonging. He also made a threat implying retaliation from local drug traffickers.
14/05/2025 – On Tuesday night (14/05), a man suspected of committing a homicide in downtown Macaé turned himself into police at the 123rd Precinct. The crime occurred on Saturday, 10 May, at an ice factory where the suspect and the victim worked together. According to witnesses, the two argued, after which the suspect briefly left and returned with a firearm, shooting the victim.
17/05/2025 – On Saturday (17/05), three individuals were arrested during Operation Caminhos Seguros, aimed at combating the sexual exploitation and abuse of children and adolescents. Two suspects were detained for child rape and one for violating a protective order. The operation is part of a broader state and national strategy to fight violence against vulnerable groups.
17/05/2025 – On Saturday (17/05), two men were arrested by military police in the Lagomar neighborhood for involvement in drug trafficking. The suspects were found on the rooftop of an abandoned building displaying firearms. During the operation, police seized a pistol with a suppressed serial number, loaded magazines, packaged marijuana and cocaine, a radio, and communication equipment. One suspect had R$1,000 and a cellphone on him.
20/05/2025 – Three individuals were detained on Tuesday (20/05), in the Favela da Linha during a Military Police operation targeting drug trafficking. While several suspects fled upon seeing the patrol, officers managed to arrest three of them. Drugs and three mobile phones were seized.

- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista, Cavaleiros, Glória and the central area.
- As risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas due to gang presence,
- avoid: Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana, Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto, and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros).
- When going to and leaving Vale Encantado, never walk, call a licensed taxi, or use a company-approved ride-sharing App.
- In any situation, avoid waiting on the sidewalk. If you call a taxi, for instance, wait inside a building and only leave when the car arrives.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
- Attention to scams that may reach you through a WhatsApp message, e-mail, SMS, or a call.
