SÃO PAULO SECURITY INCIDENTS – 1ST BULLETIN OF JUNE

A Datafolha survey released on Monday (1st), shows that 80% of Brazilian women have little to no confidence in the police or judiciary to protect them from gender-based violence, leading 37% of severe abuse victims to take no legal action. Although 89% of citizens believe violence against women is rising and 71% view the home as the most dangerous place, 61% still blame victims for their choice of partners. Crucially, over 40% fail to recognize financial control or isolation as abuse, preventing early intervention before situations turn deadly.
