06/07/2026 – On Monday (6), Federal Revenue Service agents seized a total of 448 kilograms of cocaine during two separate counternarcotics operations at the Port of Santos. The first sweep uncovered 11 kilograms stashed inside a docked cargo ship, while the second led to the extraction of 437 kilograms concealed within a scrap metal shipment bound for the United Arab Emirates. Federal Police units took custody of the seized narcotics and launched a transnational trafficking investigation.

07/07/2026 – On Tuesday night (7), a suspected arson attack destroyed two utility vehicles belonging to a glass workshop on Rua Joaquim Távora in the Vila Belmiro neighborhood. Two fire engines and five personnel successfully contained the blazes before they could spread to nearby storefronts. Fire marshals flagged the incident as arson due to the suspicious and simultaneous ignition of both parked vehicles. The scene was handed over to civil police for forensic analysis, while the business owners declined to disclose financial losses.
