Until Thursday (12/08), the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) received nine applications for registration of candidacies for the position of President in the 2022 Elections. The registration requests filed are below:
- The coalition “Pelo bem do Brasil” (PP, Republicanos e PL) made official the registration of President Jair Bolsonaro (PP), candidate for reelection
- The Partido Democrático Trabalhista (PDT) forwarded the registration of Ciro Gomes
- The Novo party presented the registration of Felipe D’Avila
- The “Brasil da Esperança” coalition (Fé Brasil (PT/PC do B/PV), Solidariedade, Federação PSOL REDE (PSOL/REDE), PSB, AGIR e AVANTE) officially registered Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT)
- The Uidade Popular (UP) party forwarded the registration of Léo Péricles
- The Brasil para Todos coalition (PSDB, Cidadania e PODE) presented the registration of Simone Tebet (MDB – Movimento Democrático Brasileiro)
- The Partido Socialista dos Trabalhadores Unificado (PSTU) made official the registration of Vera Lúcia Salgado
- The Partido Republicano da Ordem Social (PROS) registered Pablo Marçal. However, a new leadership in the party has already announced that will suspend his candidacy to support Lula
- The Partido Comunista Brasileiro (PCB) forwarded the registration of Sofia Manzano
- The União Brasil filled Soraya Thronicke‘s candidacy
- The Partido Trabalhista Brasileiro (PTB) announced the registration of Roberto Jefferson
- The Democracia Cristã (DC) made official José Maria Eymael‘s candidacy
Registered candidates will be able to take to the streets to ask for votes from Tuesday (16/08). This year, the election campaign runs until October 1st. In total, it will last 47 days.
Also starting on Tuesday, candidates will be able to promote rallies; distribute graphic materials; and advertise on the internet.
