09/09/2026 – On Wednesday (9), Military Police officers from the APREV Cavaleiros unit arrested a fugitive during routine patrol on Rua Evaldo Costa in the Sol e Mar neighborhood. The arrest was enabled by a real-time facial recognition/monitoring camera system installed directly inside the police cruiser, which flagged the suspect to officers as they drove past. Upon stopping the individual, police brought him to the 123rd Police District, where database checks confirmed an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Campos dos Goytacazes court, leading to his immediate booking into judicial custody.

15/09/2026 – On Tuesday (15), Civil Police officers from the 123rd Police District (123ª DP) executed a court-ordered search warrant, issuing a flagrant arrest against a man after recovering an illegal shotgun from his home. The judicial warrant stemmed from a domestic violence investigation opened after the suspect’s wife reported that he used the firearm to threaten her and their daughter with death following a domestic dispute on May 21. Authorities seized the illegal weapon and booked the suspect at the 123rd DP on charges of illegal firearm possession.
