By May 2026, the Rio de Janeiro Military Police intelligence unit had seized 316 assault rifles, with 90% recovered from territories controlled by the CV and TCP criminal factions. A total of 177 of these battlefield weapons were manufactured in the U.S., alongside models from Germany and Israel. Used by gangs to secure turf and drive cargo theft, tracking this arsenal remains vital for police, who have also recovered R$ 20 million in stolen goods this year.
