The incident marks the second targeted assault against cooking gas suppliers in the locality within a single week, following a September 17 shooting and improvised explosive attack on IGR Gás, which subsequently ceased operations in the neighborhood on September 21 after receiving coercion threats to halt sales. The 32nd BPM and Civil Police launched joint investigations into extortion and cartel-coercion tactics targeting local commercial distributors, while expanding preventive patrols across unmonitored sectors of Parque Aeroporto.

24/09/2026 – On Thursday (24), a joint operation conducted by the 32nd BPM and detectives from the 123rd DP (Macaé) resulted in the arrest of a suspected militia member during an extortion probe in the Parque Aeroporto neighborhood. The investigation was initiated following reports that commercial motorcycle couriers and taxi drivers were being subjected to illegal extortion fees to operate within the sector. Performing intelligence verification, officers apprehended the suspect on-site and seized his mobile phone for forensic analysis; he was formally booked at the 123rd DP under Article 288-A (private militia constitution) and Article 347 (procedural fraud) of the Brazilian Penal Code.
