31/07/2026 – A woman was targeted in an attempted feminicide while working at a pharmacy on Friday (31), in the Vila Jacuí neighborhood, East Zone, when her ex-partner invaded the store armed with a handgun, a bucket of gasoline, and a lighter. The attacker opened fire, hitting the victim in the chest and arm before fleeing as eyewitnesses raised the alarm, allowing the injured woman to be rushed to a hospital for emergency surgery. Detectives from the 63rd Police District tracked down and arrested the suspect 48 hours later on charges of attempted feminicide, domestic violence, stalking, and issuing death threats.

03/08/2026 – A drunk driver struck and killed a couple returning from work in the early hours of Monday (3), on the Dona Matilde Viaduct in the Penha neighborhood, East Zone. The 24-year-old motorist hit the two victims around 1:00, launching the woman off the 5-meter-high overpass to her death while her husband was rushed to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Civil police arrested the driver, whose license was suspended for point accumulation and whose clinical IML examination confirmed severe intoxication, charging him with vehicular homicide while forensic teams examined the crash site.
04/08/2026 – Federal police dismantled a multi-million-real postal fraud network on Tuesday morning (4), executing ten arrests and search warrants across various locations managed from the Lapa neighborhood, West Zone, where the regional distribution framework was targeted. The criminal organization used shell companies, stolen identities, and complicit postal workers to stage fake cargo thefts and fraudulently collect high-value insurance payouts from Correios. Supported by postal security services, fifty federal agents served arrest warrants against ten suspects, including three postal employees, charging them with criminal association, embezzlement, fraud, and fencing stolen property.
05/08/2026 – On Wednesday (5), the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP-SP) published a report showing that red-flag arrests and juvenile detentions for domestic violence in the state of São Paulo surged by 25.7% in the first half of the year. 05/08/2026 – On Wednesday (5), in the Parque Paulistano neighborhood in Eastern São Paulo, a dispute over a delayed order at a pizzeria escalated into violence after a staff member allegedly assaulted a delivery driver and threw his phone. The driver returned with a group of fellow motorcyclists, prompting a man linked to the restaurant to draw a handgun and fire shots at the crowd. After the weapon ran out of ammunition, delivery drivers struck the gunman in the face with a helmet before he was pulled back inside. The victim formally reported the assault and shooting at the 50th Police District.
