22/07/2026 – On Wednesday morning (22), two women were robbed at gunpoint in the Vila Olímpia neighborhood in the South Zone. Security footage shows an armed motorcyclist chasing one of the victims into the street, throwing her to the ground, and stealing her bag containing two cell phones, a tablet, and bank cards before fleeing with an accomplice. The case was registered as robbery at the 15th Police District (Itaim Bibi), which reported 534 robberies between January and May 2026 as authorities conduct inquiries to identify the suspects.
23/07/2026 – On Thursday night (23), an off-duty municipal civil guard (GCM) from Taboão da Serra reacted to an attempted robbery on Rua Sara Newton in Jardim Boa Vista, West São Paulo. The agent was heading home when an armed suspect posing as a delivery driver on a motorcycle initiated a holdup, firing approximately five shots. Taking advantage of the moment when the attacker stepped off his vehicle, the guard returned fire, hitting the suspect in the chest and back before SAMU paramedics rushed the injured assailant to the hospital under police guard.
23/07/2026 – On Thursday morning (23), 50-year-old PM Sergeant Fábio Ferreira de Souza was struck and killed on Avenida Nove de Julho, in the Jardins neighborhood, by 22-year-old Bruno Yasuda Sales Shimizu, who was driving drunk on the wrong side of the road before being arrested. It was later revealed that in September 2020, at age 16, Shimizu had previously killed a 19-year-old motorcyclist in Pilar do Sul while driving his father’s car without a license. Following this latest fatal collision—which occurred after he spent R$ 3,000 on alcohol at a Vila Olímpia nightclub—Shimizu refused a breathalyzer test, was charged with vehicular manslaughter, and had his detention converted to preventive custody during a Friday hearing.
23/07/2026 – On Thursday (23), 34-year-old Natália Leite Souza Rosa was shot in the abdomen during an attempted robbery in Capão Redondo, South Zone. Security footage shows two men on a motorcycle confronting the victim as she maneuvered her bike alongside a child, before shooting her and fleeing without taking the vehicle. 26/07/2026 – On Sunday night, July 26, 2026, a 19-year-old sanitation worker was struck and killed on Rua do Bosque in Barra Funda, West São Paulo. The 29-year-old female victim reported that the suspect exposed himself, masturbated, and pressed his genitals against her leg, prompting her to cry out for help. Fellow passengers confronted and physically assaulted the suspect on the platform before CPTM security guards intervened and handed him over to the Military Police.
29/07/2026 – On Wednesday morning (29), a 24-year-old man was arrested in flagrante for sexual harassment inside a train at the Berrini Station on Line 9-Esmeralda in the Brooklin neighborhood, South Zone. Security agents from the operator ViaMobilidade detained the suspect after he ejaculated on a 29-year-old female passenger’s clothing inside the train carriage. 30/07/2026 – A 22-year-old unhoused man was targeted in a violent attack on Thursday (30), on Avenida Rosária in the Vila Jacuí neighborhood, East Zone, where he was set on fire while sleeping on the street. 30/072026 – A school van carrying daycare children was targeted in an armed robbery on Thursday morning (30), on Rua Leite de Barros, 141, in the Limão neighborhood, North Zone, where a gunman on a motorcycle held up the drivers. The armed suspect pointed a gun at the couple operating the transport and fled after stealing their wedding rings, leaving the children physically unharmed.
