ALERT OF POSSIBLE DIESEL SHORTAGE

On Friday (27/05), media sources informed that Petrobras board of directors discussed last week the prospect of Brazil experiencing a shortage of diesel in the second half of this year. According to advisers heard by media outlets, the group decided to warn the government again about the urgency of a plan for an emergency rationing of diesel, which is in high demand in the international market. The board will also suggest to the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) that it command the actions of the sector. The discussion also included taking to the Executive Branch the suggestion to study ways to ensure that some services have priority in receiving diesel, in the event of rationing, including: ambulances; grain transport; and food transport. In the third quarter of the year, there is a strong flow of agricultural crops to be shipped outside Brazil.
