Official data from the SSP, reported in November 2025, indicates that pharmacy robberies in São Paulo capital increased by over 18% from January to September 2025 compared to the previous year. The data shows 211 cases were registered in 2025, up from 173 in 2024. The main targets of these crimes are slimming medications, cosmetics, and personal hygiene products. The ongoing trend highlights the growing frequency of this type of robbery in the city.

01/11/2025 – On Saturday night (1st), a 20-year-old woman, Beatriz Munhos, was shot in the head and killed during a robbery in Sapopemba, East São Paulo. She was with her father and boyfriend, having traveled from Sorocaba to deliver a drone to a supposed buyer. Two men on a motorcycle approached, pretending to be the buyers before announcing the robbery. Beatriz sprayed pepper spray at one of them, who responded by shooting her at close range. The assailants fled with a cellphone. The case was registered as latrocínio (robbery resulting in death) at the 69th Police Precinct, which is investigating the suspects’ identities and whereabouts.
